Earlier this month, the Linguistics Association of Great Britain held a very interesting conference, in Ipswich. From my perspective, there were two particularly interesting papers about a phenomenon which occurs in many languages with verbs getting strung together in ways which do not occur in English. In a way which may seem surprising, I believe that this is very closely related to the case of passive, as by “Teddy was hurt by a fly,” which is the main topic of my current research.

I’d love to hear more about the papers presented at the conference; it sounds like a fascinating event. I was actually researching similar topics and found some helpful analysis on https://seed3d.ai.
