Speech and Language Therapy priorities

In Speech and Language Therapy there are priorities. Some things need to happen fast. We try to get things right, and do so as promptly as possible. Serious disorders are usually clear enough. But some necessary decisions are tricky, requiring evidence, careful thought and assessment.

The child who cannot be understood by other children is isolated and not learning what can only be learnt from peers. Play is a key learning experience. Not being able to play with other children can have lifelong consequences. The situation needs to be dealt with promptly.
