In Lambeth, now

Speech and language therapy now in Lambeth, South London

My clinic in Lambeth – a legacy of speech and language therapy

My SLT clinic is based in Lambeth, a short walk or bus ride from Lambeth Town Hall, and Brixton tube and overground stations.

This vibrant part of London has a long history of artistic and creative life – and, by coincidence, is where John Thelwall established the world’s first known speech and language therapy clinic 200 years ago, just streets away from here.

Today, you’ll find murals, crocheted tops on the letter boxes, full-size statues, and cultural landmarks right on the doorstep – including two bronze sculptures of a living Black woman, possibly the only ones in Britain.

In terms of its population, Lambeth is highly diverse. There are hundreds of languages and cultures. Speech and language therapy in Lambeth has to reflect this diversity and react appropriately to the complexity to prevent children falling through the net.

Easy to reach from across London

My clinic is well connected:

  • Brixton underground (Victoria line)
  • Brixton overground
  • Local trains from Herne Hill, Streatham Hill, Clapham Junction, Victoria and Waterloo
  • Nine bus routes
  • Metered parking outside

If you’re looking for face-to-face speech and language therapy in Lambeth or greater London, I may be able to help.

Why face-to-face speech and language therapy still matters

Face-to-face therapy is essential – especially for younger children. That’s why I don’t offer remote or online SLT sessions.
